Couple Fires Nanny After Sending Accidental Racist Text

There’s literally nothing more humiliating than sending a text to the wrong person knowing it was made for someone else. We imagine it to be a million times more embarrassing to send a text to someone informing them that your a blatant racist by “accident”. Yikes!

Giselle Maurice was a newly hired Nanny who was scheduled to be paid $350.00 each week for caring for the children of Mr and Mrs Plasco within Tribeca, #NewYork. Though Maurice was only there for an extremely short amount of time, it wasn’t too long before she found out exactly who she was working for.

According to #TheIndependent ; Mrs. Plasco sent a text which was meant for her husband to Maurice that read : “NOOOOOOOOOOO ANOTHER BLACK PERSON”. Sources state the couple had issues with a previous Nanny who was Black and was expecting a Philippine Nanny.

Within less than 24 Hours the Couple agreed to fire Maurice, paid her for one days work and sent her home within an Uber . Maurice has moved forward and filed a lawsuit for $63,000 in damages. Mr Plasco states: “My wife had sent her something that she didn’t mean to say. She’s not a racist. We’re not racist people.” They’ve also concluded that they fired Maurice due to fear of retaliation due to the accidental text.”

Maurice is not buying the couples story and believe that had poor intentions from the beginning. “This is my reputation. Why would I do something to a baby? “I was willing to work with her and prove her wrong, but it was her conscience, and she couldn’t work with me and she couldn’t work with me anymore.”
