Black Attorneys Responsible For Freeing 17 Inmates Rectify Kim Kardashian Rumors!

The internet went mad a few weeks ago when rumors began to circulate of 17 inmates being released at the hands of reality television star and entrepreneur #KimKardashian. It wasn’t until a well known and highly respected black attorney came forward to clear the air, that things began to make sense.

According to  #TheGrio ; Criminal Justice advocate and attorney #BrittanyKBarnett took to her own personal #Facebook account to state it was herself and another black attorney Miangel Cody who provided direct legal assistance to help release the 17 inmates through the Buried Alive Project. Also noting that Kim served as a major funder towards their efforts.


 “We attempted to get grants from these large foundations shelling out MILLIONS of dollars to other organizations but would not look our way because they so-called don’t fund ‘direct services,’ ”  Barnett states “Our hands were full picking locks to human cages, we didn’t have time to participate in glorified begging from the nonprofit industrial complex only to be turned down.”

Sources have indicated that both Barnett and Cody help with freeing inmates under the Buried Alive Project. They Assist with legal representation in court, while target illegitimate policy change and spreading awareness of the injustices inmates are forced to endure on a daily basis.


Barnett goes on to shed light on all of the love both ladies have for Kim and the big time help she has forwarded in their efforts. “Kim linked arms with us to support us when foundations turned us down,” she continued. “We and our clients and their families have a lot of love for her and are deeply grateful for her. Regardless of who helped fund us for the past three months, in 90 days, TWO black women lawyers freed SEVENTEEN people from LIFE W/O PAROLE sentences – the second most severe penalty permitted by law in America. Only two of us.”
