Bronx Zoo Files Official Complaint Against Woman That Jumped A Fence To A Lion’s Exhibit!
Growing up our parents always made sure to tell us not to play with fire. However, in today’s day and age it probably would’ve been more helpful to throw in there not to play with lions either!
According to #NBCNewyork Police officials are currently searching for a woman recently captured on camera dancing feet away from a male lion at the #BronxZoo. Sources have indicated that the woman deliberately climbed over a safety barrier at the African lion exhibit to taunt a lion. Cellphone video footage shows the woman raising her arms and slowly dancing in front of the lion. Thankfully for her own sake the lion only blankly stared.
The video was captured by another Bronx Zoo visitor, Hernán Reynoso. He stated he was already recording the exhibit with his phone when his wife directed his attention to the woman. Initially Reynosa states he thought the dancing was an additional part of the exhibit. "But when I see ... she just was there, dancing, saying, 'Hi,' to the lion and everything and that was crazy," He goes on to say it wasn’t long before the Lion became angry and roared, that’s when him and his family moved away.
The incident has since then been reported to the Zoo’s staff; they have provided a public statement to say, "This action was a serious violation and unlawful trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death. Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe. We have a zero tolerance policy on trespass and violation of barriers."
The Zoo has filed an official complaint against the women who is still at large.
