Missy Elliott Pop Up Museum Sells Out In 60 Seconds Flat!
In honor of the legendary artist, musician, producer and songwriter #MissyElliot being named this year’s recipient of the #MichaelJackson Video Vanguard Award; #MTV has created the ultimate pop up museum on her behalf to celebrate the occasion!
According to #PageSix tickets to the Museum of Missy Elliot sold out completely in a matter of 60 seconds flat. Sources have indicated that the museum will provide a completely interactive experience.
Ticket holders have snagged the chance to sport some of Missy’s most iconic outfits from some of her illest videos, like the garbage bag suit from her 1997 video I Can’t Stand The Rain. They’ll be able to flick it up with the dance crew models of Gossip Folks and chill out in the Supa Dupa Lounge.
The Museum will also have a manicure and pedicure bar where the ladies can get their Nails Did and a salon to get their Do’s Did also.
“Missy Elliott is a creative genius whose contribution to music and pop culture can be felt across generations,” states Mona Scott-Young, Elliott’s longtime manager, within a press release. “I’m honored to have worked with her for over 20 years and proud to call her my friend. The fans deserve and the world is ready for a museum that celebrates Missy Elliott and her iconic, record-breaking career.”
Long time costume designer and friend #JuneAmbrose states, “It has been my distinct honor and privilege to have been fortunate enough to costume design for Missy for so many years, a true labor of love. I wish to congratulate Missy, Hype Williams, HiHat and all the many creatives whose amazing work will be on display at the Museum of Missy Elliott.”
