After talking a three-month hiatus from social media and staying out of the spot light all together, Queens NYC rapper Nicki Minaj is back on scene and she’s taking no prisoners.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon with the release of a medieval art portrait headlined with the signature pink ink “Barbie Tingz”, followed by a glossy photo of Minaj decked out in fendi Print, with gold with the headline “Chun Li”; we found ourselves amped up and interested in what exactly has she been cooking up; and not to mention where the hell has she been?
With the release of not one but two; new singles titled “Chun-Li “& “Barbie Tingz “on Thursday afternoon.
What should be deemed as an enjoyable moment; because Nicki push forward with some bomb tunes laced with straight bars! But her defining moment was short lived.
Social media has wasted no time comparing Minaj to the Bronx femcee Cardi-B who recently released her debut album “Invasion of privacy “. Comparison of bars, fashion sense, relationship statuses you name it; people clearly had time today. But is it a crime to actually have a place in your heart for both artist? Aren't we knees deep into a millennum where there's enough room for both female artists to obtain a spot within the industry without having to step on one another's toes? Or ya'll aint trying to hear that?
As much as everyone wants to see these two brawl, sorry ladies and gentlemen but it ain't gone happen. But there are a few things that had to be cleared up! Within in two most recent interview, both Nicki & Cardi explain the genuine respect they have for one another and cleared the air upon the motor sport ordeal.
During Zane Lowe’s beat show; Minaj states that she doesn’t have an issue with cardi at all. The only situation that had hurt her feelings was the numerous rumors that took place with the release of the popular single “motor sport “(feat Migos, Cardi B & Nicki Minaj)
“The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘Motorsport’ came out. With ‘Motorsport,’ I kinda felt ambushed,” she says. “The first thing that came out of her mouth about a Nicki Minaj feature was ‘she changed the verse’ … When it was time to clear the air about that, no one did that. All of them allowed me to look like I lied.”
Nicki felt as if she was thrown out to the wolves within the media. Numerous rumors have surfaced over the years pertaining to Nicki being stuck up and not willing to work with other’s; the motor sport ordeal didn’t help at all, and definitely added more to fuel to a flaming fire.
“I said to him, ‘You know if I don’t show up, they’re gonna think it’s because I’m doing it to be mean’ … They [Migos and Cardi] all knew that and still did interviews and jumped around it just to paint Nicki as the bad person so you could play the victim. That really, really, really hurt me because I really supported her.
