1st Grade Teacher Creates History Becoming The First Black Woman To Win Miss Tennessee Beauty Pageant!
#BlackGirlMagic is taking the World by storm this year and successfully holding no prisoners. As a first grade teacher from Nashville turned it up a few notches this weekend creating history becoming the first Black Women to be crowned Miss Tennessee in the pageants 80 plus years of history!
According to #CNN , Brianna Mason was crowned the 2019 Miss Tennessee Scholarship pageant winner Saturday night. Sources have indicated that this honor allows her to participate in the Miss America pageant set to take place later on this year.
This has been a historic year for Black Women conquering the non diversified dynamics of beauty pageants. It has been indicated that Black Women were originally banned from participating in most beauty pageants during the early 1920s. Organizations had went as far as establishing whimsical rules and barriers created with the sole purpose of keeping Black Women from participating because of their skin color.
Fast forward to today in 2019 where the current crown holders of Miss USA, Miss America and Miss Teen USA are all Black Women.
Black Women have always been beautiful, it’s just the world is finally opening their eyes to actually see the essence of our beauty.
